Our Mission

Every month thousands of children enter the foster care system in America - over 600 of them right here in Los Angeles. Forced from their homes by abuse or traumatic events, they often have just the clothes on their backs, or a few treasured possessions tossed in a trash bag to take with them. As they hope to find a safe home these children can be moved many times, often losing the few items they own– they are left with nothing that might provide comfort in a time of crisis.

While we work towards making sure every child has a safe, permanent home, we found one way to help - HelpHHT.

A Hope Tote is a sturdy personal duffle bag given free of charge by Department of Child and Family Services to a child in need, packed with essential personal products and comfort items like a journal notebook or even a teddy bear for the youngest victims. Hope Totes are more than just practical, they’re a tangible way to help a youth face an unknown future with dignity and the sense of permanence that comes from having something to call their own.
